After a very long meeting in Jakarta, me and @owjend went for a dinner in Senopati Area. A good friend of mine told us that this is the most beautiful Japanese restaurant at the moment, and well yes, it was true!
Japanese Izakaya
Izakaya Issei located in Senopati area, second floor or Appetite Cafe. You have to take the stairs to reach the place.
They have a very tiny dark space, have a Japan-restaurant-vibe out of this restaurant. Beautifully decorated with murals and complimented with a rack full of sake’s bottle.
The first time I walked in, I was very satisfied with the ambience that they made! Chill music in the background, crowd cheering from all across the restaurant, but not an annoying ones. Probably because this restaurant is targeted towards high-end customers thus you’ll feel comfortable with pretty much every condition here.
Yakitori
Izakaya Issei serves authentic yakitori and sake. We ordered several Yakitori, but our favorite is definitely Gyutan (ox tounge), Issei Karubi (wagyu) which is very tender and juicy, and Momo (chicken thighs). It was an absolutely great dinner.
Here’s few things that’s a plus from Izakaya Issei. All of the menu here are served freshly, the attention to service, plus the ambience of the space and the tasty food, all combined to a great dining experience at Izakaya Issei.
Although Izakaya Issei is on the pricier side for yakitori, but sometimes you have to treat yourself to this kind of place. Very authentic food with a very chill vibes. I definitely will go back for another sake session!
